From a young age, our founder’s compassion for the elderly and disabled shaped her life’s work. A pivotal childhood friendship with an elderly disabled church member in Buffalo, New York, inspired her to pursue a career focused on improving care for vulnerable populations. While her peers held typical first jobs, she became a nursing assistant in high school, later holding nursing licenses in three states and working in nursing homes, group homes, and Alzheimer’s facilities.
After moving to Minnesota and while raising four children, she transitioned to Medicare Advantage, where she led auditing, training, and care management for Medicare and dual-eligible programs. When the Affordable Care Act linked funding to Star Ratings, she spearheaded quality initiatives across Medicare and Special Needs Plans, later expanding her focus to include Exchange and Medicaid lines of business. Her leadership resulted in improved ratings and outcomes for the populations she’s long been passionate about serving.
Building on this expertise, she spent years consulting with local, regional, and national Medicare Advantage plans, working with leading healthcare consulting firms to drive meaningful improvements. Her efforts have helped plans navigate the complexities of Star Ratings, achieve measurable success, and develop sustainable strategies for long-term growth.
Today, as the founder of Ameropia Advisors, she helps Medicare Advantage plans improve quality, achieve higher Star Ratings, and ensure financial sustainability. By aligning quality care with financial performance, she empowers plans to deliver better outcomes for members while strengthening their ability to serve elderly and disabled communities.
